Following the trend of electric vehicles, Kia is getting ready to launch a mass-market electric vehicle similar to Hyundai Exter. Rumors are circulating regarding a small electric SUV Kia Clavis following its trademark registration in India.

Kia is Shifting Focus to Hybrid Technology

Even though 40% of Kia's sales come from diesel engines, the company is shifting its focus towards hybrid technology. Models like Kia K8 sedan, Niro crossover, Carnival MPV, Sorento, and Sportage SUVs demonstrate Kia's proficiency in the worldwide hybrid segment.

Kia plans to introduce hybrid technology in India, possibly in models like Seltos, Carens, and a new sub-4 meter variant. Rumors suggest that the Kia Clavis might feature a robust hybrid powertrain with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine. Global unveilings are expected by late 2024, with the official launch set for the first half of the year, offering petrol, diesel, and electric options.

While official details are yet to be disclosed, industry experts estimate the Kia Clavis to be priced between Rs 14 lakh to Rs 26 lakh, aiming to appeal to a wide range of consumers.
