Gold and Silver Prices Today 12 September in India


Today, the price of gold in India approached the Rs 59,000 mark, while silver is trading at approximately Rs 72,000 per kilogram. This article covers the prices of both gold and silver in India, alongside insights into their international trends.

Silver Price Today in India

Today, silver futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) opened on a positive note, gaining Rs 243 to reach an impressive Rs 72,250 per kilogram at its peak. Currently, it's trading at Rs 72,235 with a rise of Rs 293. The lowest price for silver today was recorded at Rs 72,154 per kilogram. 

Back in May, silver futures climbed above Rs 78,000 per kilogram, marking one of its recent peak levels. This significant increase in the value of silver highlights its attractiveness as an investment choice and how it responds to market changes.

Gold Price Today in India 


Gold, being another highly desired precious metal, also experienced a comparable upward trajectory. The benchmark October contract of gold on MCX opened with a gain of Rs 65 at Rs 58,995. It reached a high of Rs 58,995 and a low of Rs 58,906. This is significant because gold futures prices in May had surged to Rs 61,845 per 10 grams.


International Market Overview

Looking beyond the domestic market, we observe that gold and silver futures prices exhibited different trends in the international arena. Gold futures opened at $1,945.60 an ounce on Comex, slightly down from the previous closing price of $1,947.20. It's currently trading at $1,946.80 an ounce, showing a slight decline. 

In contrast, silver futures on Comex opened at $23.39, surpassing the previous closing price of $23.38. Currently, it's trading at $23.48 per ounce, with a notable increase of $0.09. These international price movements emphasize the global nature of precious metals trading and the various factors at play in determining their values.
